Worthy note to keep:
Using excessive detergent or fabric softener does not make garments cleaner and may actually damage the fabric over time. Most modern detergents are highly concentrated, so a small amount is sufficient to remove dirt and odors effectively. Using too much detergent can leave residue on the fabric, causing stiffness, fading, or skin irritation. Similarly, excessive fabric softener can coat the fibers, reducing breathability and weakening the material. For best results and longer lasting garments, use detergent and fabric softener in moderate amounts according to the recommended guidelines.
Pilling Care
Pilling may occur on certain fabrics due to normal friction during wear or washing. This happens when loose fibers on the surface form small balls over time, especially in areas that experience frequent rubbing. Pilling is a natural characteristic of many textiles and does not indicate a defect. To minimize pilling, wash garments inside out, use a gentle cycle, and avoid washing with rough fabrics such as denim or towels. If pilling occurs, it can be easily removed using a fabric shaver followed by lint remover.
Lint Care
Some fabrics may naturally attract or shed lint, especially when washed with other garments that release fibers such as towels, fleece, or wool. This is normal and does not indicate a defect in the fabric. To minimize lint, wash similar fabrics together, turn garments inside out before washing, and avoid overloading the machine. Remove lint with a lint roller or fabric brush.
